runteldat!
so last monday my dad and i attended our first ever live wwe event... my dad had mentioned to me that he had been to a wrestling show before but that was way way back in the day (when vince mcmahon's dad owned the wrestling circuit)... we had arrived around the area early and stopped in this little shopping mall there and decided to stop in chili's first to eat...
the place was packed... with wrestling fans all over... Stone Cold 3:16 shirts, carlito apple shirts, everything... you could just tell... oddly enough, the crowd seemed like the same crowd you see at a tool, or disturbed/godsmack show (yes, sadly enough i've seen the latter 2 bands live... only because they were opening for STP)...
Anywho, we decided to leave our car parked in the chili's lot for free parking and still had lots of time to kill... there was a target that we walked around for a little, and it was just as packed... for the first time ever, I had to wait in line for the men's bathroom... seemed like everyone had the same idea to just take squatter residence at the local target..
we eventually made it to the line for the event and with my yellow sign in tow, we made it to our seats... i was a little nervous about our tickets, since we had bought them from some dude out on ebay, but once we were in, we were golden... great seats, 7th row center... we were able to get a quick shot of our sign right in the beginning of raw, and during a segment... you can see the video here: Yue on Raw
Look at about 1:12 and in the background you can see my dad and me with the sign. I flash the "YUE" then try to turn it around for the money "Runteldat" shot, but get clipped off... damnit... just means we'll have to go again...
Anyways, it was quite entertaining, but the best thing about it was that i was able to take my dad to it... he really enjoyed it and just seeing that un-dentured missing teeth smile was worth it... it's funny since we used to watch wrestling together ever since i was a little kid.. we'd sit in front of the tv during PPV events, and rather pay for the event, we'd just "watch" and listen to the scrambled screen... it felt good just to be able to give a little something unique back to him for everything that he and my mom has given me...
so thank you, to the both of you, for life, for the lessons, and for the future that you've given me... thank you and i love you both...
